Natacha Valla is an economist. She is currently fellow at Paris School of Economics, teaches at New York University AD and is a Director of LVMH, Accor and ASF/Cofiroute. She is also a permanent member of the Conseil d’analyse économique (CAE) and of the scientific council of the French Supervisory Authority (ACPR).

She will soon take office as Deputy Director General for Monetary Policy at the European Central Bank.

Her research interests include investment, monetary policy, international macroeconomics, financial stability and applied macroeconomics.

Until recently, she was head of the Policy and Strategy Division at the European Investment Bank. Beforehand, she acted as Deputy Director of CEPII in 2014-2016, where she also headed the scientific programme International Macroeconomics and Finance. In 2008-2014 she was Executive Director at Goldman Sachs Global Economic Research, where her focus was on financial economics and macroeconomic developments in the euro area. Natacha worked at the European Central Bank between 2001-2008. She has also lectured international economics at Sciences-Po Paris and worked from 2005 at Banque de France. Prior to that, she has been a consultant for the IMF and the OECD, and taught at the Universities of Florence, Paris-Dauphine and business school of HEC.

She received a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute (Florence) in 2003.
