Having started his career in the media, Frédéric Lazorthes began working as a columnist and regular contributor to the magazines Le Débat and Études. Author of Une crise française (2004), in which he analysed the causes of the government's breakdown and the disintegration of cleavages structuring political life, he is currently writing a book on the emerging threats to democracy.


After serving as institutional relations officer in the Radio France presidency, and subsequently as parliamentary assistant at the Senate, he served as forecast adviser in the Prime Minister's office from 2005 to 2007, before joining the Ministry of Agriculture as head of the forecasting mission.


In 2008, he was hired by the Ministry of the Interior as forecast adviser to the Secretary of State for French overseas departments and territories between 2008 and 2009, before joining the French overseas departments and territories' directorate-general, where he contributed to issues related to infrastructure and major projects for the French overseas departments and territories’ conference. He was later appointed Secretary General of the National Committee for the Memory and History of Slavery, responsible for monitoring the committee’s work and public policies (education, culture, commemoration, diplomacy, etc.).


Since 2015, he has been advizing public officials and business leaders in their communication initiatives and through strategic memos.
