Aminata Kone

Director of Research, Environmental Africa

Aminata Kone is an energy and environmental policy expert. She works as an energy regulation consultant with a specialization in electricity market design, clean power, electrification and distribution networks. She also serves as director of research at NGO Environmental Africa, where her work focuses on sustainable livelihoods and green jobs in rural areas.

Aminata Kone has previously worked as an electricity regulation analyst at a French employers’ union, representing local actors along the electricity value chain in matters directly involving the French national energy regulator and Ministry of the Ecological Transition, among others. 

She also works as a freelance writer and has previously written for outlets such as Fondapol (Fondation pour l’innovation politique), Je m’engage pour l’Afrique and Welcome to the Jungle.
