Sana Hashmi

Postdoctoral Fellow at Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation

Sana Hashmi, Ph.D., is Postdoctoral Fellow at Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation. She has been working with the Foundation since March 2021. She is an affiliated scholar with the Research Institute for Indo- Pacific Affairs (RIIPA). She was Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fellow at the Institute of International Relations, National Chengchi University in 2020. She is a former Consultant in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India from 2016-19. In 2017, she was named United Kingdom’s next-gen foreign and security policy scholar. Before MEA, she was with the Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) from 2011-2016. She has also worked at South Asia Forum for Human Rights (SAFHR), Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), and Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA).

She is an author of China’s Approach towards Territorial Disputes: Lessons and Prospects. She is currently working on a book project on Situating India in Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy.
