Reuben Wong

Associate Vice President at the National University of Singapore

Associate Professor Reuben Wong is the Associate Vice President, Global Relations Office (GRO) at the National University of Singapore since 1 January 2021. Reuben is an Associate Professor jointly in the College of Alice & Peter Tan (CAPT) and the Department of Political Science. Prior to joining academia,Reuben worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he served as Country Officer (ASEAN), First Secretary in the Singapore Embassy in Paris, then Assistant Director (Western Europe). He has written widely on the EU’s foreign policy and relations with ASEAN and China and was appointed the first Jean Monnet Professor in Singapore (2013-2016) with a grant from the European Commission. Reuben’s research focuses on European integration, foreign policy, and the politics of disability. He teaches inter-disciplinary modules in CAPT, international relations in Political Science, and is a Fellow in the Teaching Academy. A former Fulbright scholar, Reuben has served on the Council of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA), and is currently a Senior Research Affiliate at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. In his new role, he will bring his invaluable experience to further raise the profile of NUS in the global arena.
