Philip Gorski

Chair of the Sociology Department at Yale University

Philip Gorski is the Frederick and Laura Goff Professor of Sociology and Religious Studies and Chair of the Sociology Department at Yale University. His research focuses on the intersection of religion and politics in modern and early modern Europe and North America. He is the author, most of recently, with Samuel Perry, of The Flag and the Cross: White Christian Nationalism and the Threat to American Democracy (Oxford, 2022).
