Marina Rafenberg

Journalist

Marina Rafenberg is a French-Greek journalist based in Greece since September 2014, who has covered not only the standoff between Athens and Brussels following Alexis Tsipras’s election in January 2015, but also the economic and social consequences of an unprecedented recession. She has additionally covered the arrival of more than a million refugees in Europe via the north Aegean islands and the difficulties of their integration in a union increasingly fractured by nationalism. She is the Athens correspondent for the newspaper Le Monde, in addition to working for Agence France Presse and periodically for other French media (GEO magazine, L’Express, Le Journal du Dimanche...). A graduate of The Lille Institute of Political Studies, Marina also trained as a journalist at the The Practical Journalism Institute in Paris.
