Lukas Schmelter

Ernest May Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center

Lukas Schmelter is currently an Ernest May Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He previously worked as a policy advisor and speechwriter at the CDU party headquarters in Berlin and for the CDU leadership campaign of Friedrich Merz. He holds a BSc. in Government and History from the London School of Economics and Political Science, an M.Phil. in Modern European History from the University of Cambridge, and an M.A. in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, where he studied as a Schwarzman Scholar. He is the recipient of scholarships from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.
