Loïc Josseran

President of Alliance Contre le Tabac

Professor, physician and public health researcher, Loïc Josseran graduated in medicine at Bordeaux II University before completing his internship at Rennes I. Having specialised in public health issues, Loïc Josseran completed his training in 2001 with a PhD thesis on France's real-time health monitoring system. He submitted his doctoral thesis in 2010 and obtained an Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) in 2011.
 
From 2000 to 2003, he was the clinical director at the Hôpital de la Pitié Salpêtrière, before joining the Institut de veille sanitaire (InVS) as a medical epidemiologist (2003-2010). He also served as technical adviser to the cabinets of the Secretary of State for Health, Nora Berra, and the Minister of Health, Xavier Bertrand, from 2010 to 2012. Since 2012, he occupies the position of University Professor - Hospital Practitioner at the University of Versailles - Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ).
 
From 2017 to 2021, Loïc Josseran was Vice-Dean of the Simone Veil Health Training and Research Unit at the UVSQ, in charge of the first year (PACES, PASS - LAS), before becoming Dean in July 2022.

He has been President of the Alliance Contre le Tabac since 2017.
