Duncan Ivison

Deputy Vice Chancellor and Professor at the University of Sydney

Duncan Ivison is currently Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) at the University of Sydney. He was also Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (2010-2015) and Head of the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry (2007-2009). Professor Ivison has also held appointments in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto, the Department of Politics at the University of York (UK) and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Research School of Social Sciences at the ANU. 

Duncan Ivison did his BA at McGill University in Montreal and his MSc and PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Fellow and Visiting Fellow in Ethics and Public Affairs at the Center for Human Values, Princeton University (2002-3). He was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities in 2009 and Fellow of the Royal Society of NSW in 2017.
