Covid-19, the United States and the World on the Eve of the Presidential Elections

The fight against Covid-19 and its economic and social consequences have and will continue to impact the world. The climate of renewed tensions between the United States and China, worldwide protests against racial discrimination and police brutality, and rising unemployment and inequalities, have deeply affected the United States, where social demonstrations under the banner of "Black Lives Matter" are erupting throughout the country. On the eve of the presidential elections, Richard Haass, President of the Council on Foreign Relations, and author of book The World: A Brief Introduction (Penguin Press, 2020) and Dominique Moïsi, Special Advisor in geopolitics at Institut Montaigne, will discuss the challenges ahead for the world and on the other side of the Atlantic.
