He joined the Institut Montaigne in the summer of 2023. Maxime began his career as an economist at Oddo BHF in Paris before joining Bloomberg's London headquarters as euro-area economist. From 2014 to 2018, he was in charge of the region’s economic analysis and monitoring the ECB's monetary policy. He then became managing director of the think tank Génération Libre, which he led from 2018 to 2021, before becoming director at the international consulting firm Brunswick.

Maxime is also a columnist for the daily newspaper L'Opinion and published "Le Grand Vieillissement" (Editions de l'Observatoire) in 2022, an essay on demographic change and intergenerational fairness.

Maxime graduated from ESCP Europe, City University and Université Paris-Dauphine. He passed his French and German baccalaureate at the Lycée Français Jean Renoir in Munich before studying at the Institution des Chartreux in Lyon.
