Pascal Canfin

Chair of the Committee on the Environment at the European Parliament

Pascal Canfin is a French member of the European Parliament and member of the Renew Europe Group. He held a first mandate at the European Parliament from 2009 to 2012 and was elected a second time in 2019when he also became chair of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI). Before holding these positions he was the Chief Executive Officer of WWF France from 2016 to 2019, where he contributed to the preservation of ecosystems and species and fought against climate change. From 2014 to 2015 he was a Head Counselor for Climate at the World Resources Institute and co-president of the Commission for climate financing innovation. In 2012, he was delegated Minister for Development, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during François Hollande’s presidential tenure.

Pascal Canfin graduated from Sciences Po Bordeaux and the University of Newcastle.
