The China-US Trade "War"

This four-part blog was written between November 27, 2019, and February 18, 2020. Contrary to many predictions, the US economy withstood well the trade conflict, while China was hurt more by diminished expectations than by actual trade losses. Beyond an unpredictable 2020 – with the onslaught from Coronavirus and presidential election politics – it is likely that technological and financial decoupling from China will become key issues both for the United States and for its partners.
